1. The short version

Hire Alien is built so that the sensitive part — your business documents, your AI provider's API key, and the actual content of every conversation your AI employee has — never reaches our servers. That processing happens entirely inside the Hire Alien desktop application, running on your own computer. What we do collect is limited to running your account and billing, described in detail below.

3. What we never collect

We do not collect, receive, transmit, or store: the documents you upload into the desktop app's knowledge folder; your OpenAI API key (or a local model's connection details); or the content of any conversation your AI employee has with a customer, whether by website chat, phone, or WhatsApp. These are processed entirely within the desktop application on your own hardware.

4. Third parties who may process data on your behalf

Depending on which features you use, the following third parties may process data as part of that specific feature — each governed by their own privacy policy:

Safepay — payment processing, if you subscribe to a paid plan.
Telnyx — if you connect a phone number, call audio passes through Telnyx's infrastructure to reach your Runtime, per their own policies. Twilio instead, if you connected a number using your own Twilio account.
Meta — WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger messages pass through Meta's platforms, under their own terms.
Fiwano — if this site connects your WhatsApp, Instagram or Messenger through Fiwano (an approved Meta Technology Provider), those messages pass through Fiwano's infrastructure on their way to and from Meta, under their own policies. This applies only where a channel was connected by that route; channels connected directly to Meta do not involve them.
OpenAI (or none if using a fully local model) — conversation content is sent directly from your own computer to whichever provider you configure, under their data usage terms, not ours.
localtunnel — when a phone number or a directly-connected WhatsApp account needs to reach the Runtime on your own computer, the app opens a public address through localtunnel's infrastructure, and that traffic passes through it. The app does this by itself when it is needed; nothing passes through it otherwise.

5. Cookies and analytics

This website may use standard analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel, if configured) to understand site traffic and improve the product. These tools may set cookies in your browser. They are not used on the desktop application itself.

6. Data retention

We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active, and as required afterward for legitimate business or legal purposes (such as tax records). Support tickets are retained to maintain a history of your support interactions. You can request account deletion by contacting us.

7. Your rights
